Energy-efficient homes lower utility bills, provide better indoor air quality (IAQ), reduce asthma and allergy symptoms, increase home value, and decrease your carbon footprint.

Maryland Energy Efficiency Consulting

Minnick’s helps homeowners, home builders, and architects create homes that are energy-efficient, comfortable, safe, and durable. We’re pioneers in Whole-Home Comfort. We’ve believed for years, that you achieve peak comfort by analyzing the performance of an entire home.

We even offer smart technology that predicts and prevents breakdowns and protects comfort.

We provide the following services:

1. HERS Ratings
First, a HERS Rating (Home Energy Rating System) ranks a home’s energy efficiency on a scale of 0-150, similar to a miles-per-gallon fuel efficiency rating for cars. The higher the number, the greater the energy consumption. Minnick’s offers HERS ratings throughout Maryland.

2. Energy Audit:
A home energy audit detects areas within each room that cause energy loss. Minnick’s offers two types of audits — Minnick’s Healthy Energy Audit and our HVAC audit. Our HVAC audit is most useful for home builders, designing green homes.

It focusses on the efficiency of a home’s heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. During Minnick’s Energy Audit, an auditor inspects windows, doors, insulation, attic, appliances, heating and cooling system, basement, crawlspace, and the duct system.

Minnick’s is certified by the Building Performance Institute (BPI) which sets the standards for home performance professionals like Minnick’s. Even ConsumerReports recommends hiring a BPI professional.

3. Energy Star Home Certification
Minnick’s is a qualified administrator of ENERGY STAR certification. We consult with architects, builders, and homeowners throughout the entire design/build process.

Minnick’s can also help you achieve a number of other energy efficient and green building certifications.

Smart Maintenance detects up to 80-percent of HVAC issues before they happen. Custom sensors monitor your HVAC system monthly and send urgent heating and cooling alerts. Plus, receive never before seen data about your system’s performance.

We can add our Smart Maintenance system in a new home or existing home.

5. Green remodeling services
