Formally known as icynene spray foam, this type of insulation prevents cold air from passing through your home. It is sprayed into the walls of your home, where it expands to fill all of the spaces. Spray foam insulation comes in two forms: closed cell and open cell, both of which are excellent choices for insulation. The closed cell type is slightly more eco-friendly than the closed cell.
Spray foam does not deteriorate like the more traditional cellulose insulation, and it resists moisture at a much better rate. In addition, the spray foam insulation is not conducive to animals and insects that are looking for a new home. Finally, once the spray foam insulation has been installed, it quickly becomes hard and will not disintegrate or collapse like some cellulose insulation.
